CloudMe and Mountain Lion

CloudMe has added support for OS X Mountain Lion to our upcoming release of the CloudMe Sync application. In the meanwhile, it is completely safe to use CloudMe Sync by pressing OK when the below warning dialog appears.

“There was a problem connecting to the server. URLs with the type “nwnode” are not supported.”

CloudMe is also in the process of adding support for our Mountain Lion WebDAV users. In the meanwhile, we recommend downloading a stand-alone WebDAV client. One such stand-alone client is Transmit. Here is a screenshot to help with configuration. (Please insert your unique username and make sure to enter it in lowercase)

Connecting to CloudMe is as easy as 1,2,3!

Looking to connect to CloudMe? Wish you could treat CloudMe as an additional drive on your computer? Then here’s a quick tutorial to help you connect to CloudMe so you can drag-n-drop files/folders in and out of your CloudMe account.

Connecting to CloudMe is as easy as 123!

For Mac users:

  1. Open your Mac Finder. From the “Go” menu, select “Connect to Server…”
  2. In the “Server Address” field, enter http://webdav.cloudme.com/username (insert your CloudMe username for “username” and use lowercase letters)
  3. Type in your CloudMe username (in lowercase) and password. Be sure “Registered User” is selected and click “Connect”

For Windows users:

We recommend downloading the free version of NetDrive to connect to CloudMe.

Here’s how you configure NetDrive to connect to CloudMe:

  1. Click New Site (bottom left button) and Site Name = CloudMe
  2. Site IP or URL = http://webdav.cloudme.com/username (in lowercase)
  3. Server Type = WebDAV and Drive = Z (or any other)
  4. Account = Your CloudMe account username (in lowercase)
  5. Password = Your CloudMe account password
  6. Check the box – Automatic login and then click “Connect”

How to store your QuickBooks backup file on CloudMe

Looking to store your QuickBooks backup file on CloudMe? Great!  Then here is a quick tutorial to help you utilize CloudMe’s WebDAV capability to store your QuickBooks backup file.

We recommend the following 3 step procedure:
1. Install WebDAV
2. Create a folder within your CloudMe account called “QuickBooks Backup”
3. Within QuickBooks, “Schedule Unattended Backup”

1. Install WebDAV
A. After opening a CloudMe Account, go to WebDAV
B. If you have a Mac, follow the instructions provided
C. If you have Windows, download the free NetDrive app

How do I configure NetDrive to CloudMe?
You can configure NetDrive to use CloudMe by following these instructions: 

  1. Click New Site (bottom left button) and Site Name = CloudMe
  2. Site IP or URL = http://webdav.cloudme.com/username (in lowercase)
  3. Server Type = WebDAV and Drive = Z (or any other)
  4. Account = Your CloudMe account username (in lowercase)
  5. Password = Your CloudMe account password
  6. Check the box – Automatic login and click “Connect”

2. Create a folder within your CloudMe account named “QuickBooks Backup”
A. Log in to CloudMe
B. Under the tab My Files, click on New Folder in upper right corner and name the file, “QuickBooks Backup”

3. Within QuickBooks, “Schedule Unattended Backup”
A. Please read the section listed at the bottom of the following link called “Schedule Unattended Backup
and follow the instructions.
B. For Location, insert the correct link to your “QuickBooks Backup” folder within CloudMe
Ex.  z:\xios\QuickBooks Backup\
