CloudMe’s Stance on Security Issues

The Fraunhofer Institut made a report about the safety and security of some of the most well known Cloud solutions, such as Dropbox and CloudMe. They are criticizing the level of security these Cloud solutions provide based on a number of criteria, primarily regarding their easy access abilities and user-friendly interface.

We always appreciate our service being evaluated by third parties and we find this report both interesting and valuable for our future development. However, in all services there is a fine balance between usability and security and we are constantly assessing this balance.

In the connected world of today, information is never as secure as many people and companies would like it to be. Awareness of the risks once you are on the internet is something that should never be forgotten. But the lock-in solutions needed to achieve a 100% level of security is not something that we think would benefit those who use our service.

We strongly believe that the benefits of being able to store, access and share photos, music and files with friends and family, in an easy and user-friendly way, is what matters the most to our users.

Mathias Ericsson & Alex Vieux

Mathias Ericsson and Alex Vieux

Mathias Ericsson, CEO of CloudMe, said, “Internet is rapidly becoming the reason to use a computer and files are now also following users to the cloud. The upside of having all your files in the cloud is constant access, but also being able to share content on the go. With more and more connected devices – a common meeting point for them becomes necessary – that is what we are offering with our cloud storage. Naturally we are very proud of being selected by Red Herring as a winner, it is important for our team and a confirmation that we are on the right path internationally.”

Continue on our journey with us! Keep those comments and feedback coming. We’ve only just begun. Get ready for some amazing feature improvements due to be released within the next year. What are your thoughts on our progress so far? We’d love to hear from you in the comments below!

Back to the Future!

Golden Gate Bridge

Golden Gate Bridge

Streets of San Francisco

Recently I was visiting the bay area for meetings and exhibitions. And it really did strike me how everybody now is talking about cloud solutions as the next big thing, and how everything is going to be cloud based in the future. Gartner Group predicts cloud related services and investments to be about half the total investment spent in IT for the years to come.

Overview of San Francisco

Then I went back home and realized that what everybody is talking about, we are already using! With the CloudMe service you are already in the forefront of technology. You are using the cloud in the way that most people still are just beginning to talk about as something that belongs to the future development of IT.

But the journey doesn´t stop here. Together we will continue to develop CloudMe even further. So keep on sending us your ideas on how to improve the service. And we will add improvements to the future cloud based solution, already in use today!
